EMAIL FAQ 016 - How do I check my email settings for Eudora 6.5.2?
Select Tools | Options
Select Getting Started.
Check your email Address ie john@flexisoft.com
Check Mail server both incoming and
outgoing should be mail.yourdomain.com
e.g. mail.flexisoft.com or mail.newelva.com or mail.VantageResinSystems.com
Check the User Name is your email address.
Now select Checking Mail
Check Mail Server should be as detailed in the previous screen
Check User Name - this should be your email address ie john@flexisoft.com
If you wish set check for mail every ... minutes to something like 2 or 3 minutes
Leave everything else as shown
Now Select Incoming Mail
Make sure that Server configuration is POP.
Make sure that Leave mail on server is NOT checked
Authentication style should be Passwords
Now select Sending Mail
Again Email address should be your email address.
SMTP server should be the same server
as your Incoming server
Check SMTP server should be mail.yourdomain.com
e.g. mail.flexisoft.com or mail.newelva.com or mail.VantageResinSystems.com
Make sure Allow authentication is checked.
To Test an Email
Select File | Check Mail or press the
button
You will be prompted for your password.
Test by sending an email to your self. After a minute or so the email should arrive in your mail box. This will prove mail can be both sent and received.
