EMAIL FAQ 003 - How do I check my email settings?

The following outlines the necessary settings required to send and receive email that has been provided by Flexisoft.

Microsoft Outlook Express

Step 1.

Select Accounts from the Tools drop down menu
Select the Mail tab
Select the email to check and press the properties button
The following dialog will be displayed

Note - your domain name may be displayed in the first field. Change this to your name. This is the name that these email settings will display as in the previous screen.

Make sure that "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing" is selected - this makes sure that this email is checked when you press the Send and Receive button

 

Step 2.

Select the Servers Tab

From this dialog you can:

a) Change the POP3 and SMTP servers.
b) Enter your email sign on details
c) Select "My server requires authentication" (this must be set)

 

Step 3.

Select the Settings tab

Leave all settings as displayed and press OK

 

Step 4.

Select the Advanced tab

Leave all settings as displayed and press OK

 

Step 5.

From Outlook Express Main Menu Select Options from the Tools Menu

a) Check When starting go directly to my inbox folder
b) Make sure check for new messages every is set to something in the region of 2 minutes
